You should buy this book based on the title alone. My only question is, How could they pass on a triple ‘t’ alliteration? Just add ‘torture’ to the mix and you got it. It’s kind of all the rage these days.

Herald Press was kind enough to send me a copy to review, so that’s the plan. I’m a few books behind in the review category, but as soon as it’s published I’ll post a link to it. In the meantime, as it takes printed reviews forever and a day to see the light, go ahead and buy it and form your own thoughts and opinions. After all, Groucho Marx had some pretty strong invective for reviewers and critics conditioning the experience of would-be patrons, and I’d rather stay on his posthumous good side.

For now, you should know this book is a combination of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and beautifully crafted interpretative work of various accounts in The Martyrs Mirror. How can you pass on it? (Just click on the pic to order it.)

"Now, are these Catholics or Protestants putting me to death? I just can't seem to tell the difference these days."

(And yes, that caption is my own bit of brilliance. Don’t fault the publisher, it’s not actually on the book. I’m sure sweet Maria van Beckum was really thinking, “God bless us, everyone.”)
