O God, the vomit,
half-chewed nuts, pickles,
raisin skins, hash marks
of cereal. Jaw-sore,
she refolds
hands into her mouth,
praying for pleasure
rejected, offers
herself a new life,
scraped out. Images
of cellulite and dead
flood her confession.
She flushes, humped, cleansed.
Water catches in the toilet’s throat.
