Back in January of 2009, I came across a trailer for a low-budget indie sci-fi/fantasy film called Ink. I was immediately intrigued by the trailer’s Gilliam/Jeunet/Gaiman vibe, but it wasn’t until last week that I finally got to see the film.

I’ll be posting my full review of Ink here at Filmwell soon — Spoiler Alert: I liked it… a lot — but in the meantime, check out Uncle Jack, a 5 minute short that Ink‘s director, Jamin Winans, did for Pentax in February of 2010. While certainly a good deal less fantastical than Ink, Uncle Jack contains a similar sense of cleverness, style, and interest in stories and storytelling.
