Apparently, both of my publishers were waiting to see if Harold Camping was going to be right. That’s the only explanation I have for why I am still waiting on the publication of my two most recent books Third-Way Allegiance and The Devil Wears Nada.
I finished writing Third-Way Allegiance, a book about the co-opting of Christianity with nationalism, and why faith in an elephant or a donkey is just plain silly (thanks Against Me!), two years ago. And I’m still waiting.
Sorry, Fugazi, but I am not a patient boy.
Official word is (note, “official word” from Mennonites is a little less official as one can readily imagine) is that it will be available July 15. I’ll post a link as soon it becomes available for pre-order.
The Devil Wears Nada, a memoir detailing my search for Satan in order to make a pact with “him” for the elimination of my student loans, was originally slated for last Winter, then it moved to this April, and now . . .? Well, hopefully, July. I’m not sure. Things are completely ready to go, it’s print-ready and all that, but we are waiting on Publisher’s Weekly to first review it before it is released.
My hope is that since Jesus was a no-show this past weekend, the forces-that-be can get back to work. I know they were holding out–just in case. To be honest, I don’t blame them. I spent all last week trying to complete Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars just in case Jesus “called me home.”
I was not about to let that 50 bucks go to waste.
PostScript: If either Michael K., Christian A. or Charlie C. read this please know that I love you, you guys represent amazing publishing houses and, if it were possible, I would have your children. Okay, that’s a little disturbing, but I would definitely name a bonobo after you.
