Federal Judge Phyllis Hamilton has ordered the Pentagon to release the names of those who train and teach at the government funded training facility in Georgia: the SOA, or, more recently named, the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation. The name change was intended to show a new direction the SOA was taking, but even US Army Major Joe Blair, who ‘taught’ there (and has become a very strong critic of the institute) claims that the course work is still the same. In an interview, Major Blair says, “The doctrine that was taught was that if you want information you use physical abuse, you use false imprisonment, you use threats to family members, you use virtually any method necessary to get what you want . . . torture and killing. If there’s someone you don’t want, you kill them. If you can’t get the information you want, if you can’t get that person to shut up or to stop what they’re doing you simply assassinate them, and you assassinate them with one of your death squads.”
Well, then.
I guess you don’t have to be a “Muslim” to be a terrorist.
From now on, at least, if the US Government is going to train folks south of us how to torture, extort, and blackmail human beings, they’re going to, at least, have to divulge some names.
You take a victory in whatever form it comes, I guess.
