It’s interesting that in the U.S., where seventy-plus percent of the population hearts Jesus, many Christians do not celebrate All Saints and All Souls Day. I’m not sure why, as we really do seem to love our holidays. I’m guessing it’s because (save the high liturgical folks), many folks don’t know what they’re missing. If they did, I’m sure they’d start buying stuff. I know I would.
After all, the powers-that-be timed the release of Marvel Lego with this holiday season so well. And praise God to whom all blessings flow, because now I don’t have to feel guilty about purchasing it (that shit’s 50 bucks!)
So, hey, I’m looking at you Hallmark, Victoria’s Secret, Game Stop, Wal Mart, and Bill Donohue: it’s up to you to make sure Christians start celebrating the Triduum of All Hallows.
It’s up to you.
