Cornel West is the Class of 1943 University Professor in the Center for African American Studies at Princeton University. West is a prolific speaker, public intellectual, and social critic, but he has also performed his own hip-hop and spoken word album and even played a character in The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. West’s latest book is Hope on a Tightrope: Words and Wisdom (Carlsbad, CA: Hay House, 2008).
