Julie M. Hamilton is the manager for the Foundation for Spirituality and the Arts, which is based in New York City, NY, and Charleston, SC. Originally from central Texas, she is a graduate of Duke Divinity School, where she studied art history and theology. Beginning as an arts consultant for nonprofit arts organizations and Dillon + Lee Gallery in New York, she became a contributing writer to the Curator Magazine, an arts critic for INDY Week newspaper, and the arts editor for The Other Journal. Her current curatorial research and writing engages phenomenology, critical theory, and religion in contemporary visual art and film.
Jennifer Markowitz’s exhibit Fleshmap: My Unraveling Geographies is an embroidered atlas that charts her emotional cartography.
