Kelsey Wallace

Kelsey serves as the primary academic advisor for all students and works with the Academics Team to maintain student records, policies, and forms. As Registrar, she also helps plan two of the most exciting events of the year: Convocation and Commencement. “It is a privilege to walk with students from the first day they enter our doors, virtual or physical, until they cross the stage at graduation,” Kelsey says. She loves hearing about students’ lives and what draws them to their work. She also enjoys finding creative solutions to help students succeed while fitting graduate school into their already busy schedules. She sees her Registrar role as a continuation of her years of experience in teaching and academic coaching. Kelsey holds a BA from the University of Delaware (History Education, minor in Philosophy) and an MDiv from Lancaster Theological Seminary. She received her PhD in Hebrew Bible (with a concentration in Women’s and Gender Studies) from Drew University in 2024. Her dissertation is entitled: “Remembering the Future: Exodus, Science Fiction, and the Strategies of Memory.” Her research interests include science fiction, popular culture, coping with narratives of violence, cultural memory, contextual hermeneutics, and critical theory. With a background in education, Kelsey has taught at levels from Sunday school to high school to graduate school. She is also completing the ordination process with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). When Kelsey’s not at work, she’s likely making progress on her dissertation, reading sci-fi novels, or playing Dungeons & Dragons. Originally from Pennsylvania (shout out to the east coast!), she loves to bake – the physicality of working with dough is a refreshing contrast to academic life.
