In “Tiniest Prayer,” the poet Nicholas Samaras recognizes the motion of prayer as one that humbles, that moves one “out of the center” and into the will of God.
Nicholas Samaras won the Yale Series of Younger Poets Award with his first book of poetry. His next book, American Psalm, World Psalm, is forthcoming in 2014 from Ashland Poetry Press. Samaras’s work has appeared in the New Yorker, Poetry, the Kenyon Review, and elsewhere. Currently, he lives in West Nyack, New York.
