About seven episodes ago, a frequently filmed set of dicsussions about cinema and the “biz” made their way to the internet (accessable either here or here). Ever since then, Look of the Week has been an interesting go-to for good film talk. A few good examples of what goes on in this program would be this contextualization of Certified Copy, this bit on Chaplin by David Kiehn, or this Adams-ish take on Tree of Life (which “May hurt the audience feelings”).
Hosted by film studies prof and editor Sara Vizcarrondo, it appears that Alejandro Adams is largely responsible for the actual production of the show. This must explain many of the show’s now characteristic nuances, which I believe may be a harbinger of the talk-show format in our post-Oprah age (you heard it here first).
Regardless of how one describes it, this is the good stuff. Be sure to check it out. And donate.
